Houthi-style ‘gray zone’ war scares global companies

State-backed disruption to supply chains has become one of multinationals’ biggest fears following the devastating impact of Houthi attacks on shipping, according to an annual survey of major companies.

The 2024 political risk survey by insurance group WTW revealed growing concern among major companies about so-called “gray zone” attacks, defined as operations that fell short of war but had the potential to seriously weaken economies.
