The FirstRand Group has issued a nationwide “security advisory” regarding planned protest actions during and after the elections by allegedly dissatisfied supporters of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.

However, the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal, whose offices have been identified as being at “high risk” of violence, warned against the notice, saying it could encourage unrest.

The tip-off prompted KwaZulu-Natal police to implore FirstRand to share any information it had on the matter with Crime Intelligence.
