Inside the search for new Chelsea manager amid Kieran McKenna’s latest update and Thomas Frank turnaround

Chelsea’s search for a new head coach continues as the club looks to name a permanent replacement for the recently departed Mauricio Pochettino.

The club confirmed on Tuesday night that Pochettino had left Stamford Bridge by mutual agreement after just one season in the dugout. Since then, the internet has been abuzz with speculation about who will take Pochettino’s place. It is his understanding that Kieran McKenna, Enzo Maresca and Sebastian Hoeness have been included in the club’s shortlist of candidates to take over the head coach role. However, the last of the three, Hoeness, seems unlikely at this point, with the German preferring to stay and continue his impressive project with VfB Stuttgart.

Thursday afternoon, Bobby Vincent organized a question and answer session on website and questions flooded in throughout the day. Here is a full transcript with every question and answer from the session.

SamTruelove asked: “Hi Bobby. What do you think of Kieran McKenna? Can the current Ipswich boss really become Chelsea’s new head coach?”

Cop replied: “Hi Sam. There’s no doubting McKenna’s credentials. Achieving back-to-back promotions in any form is extraordinary, let alone through two really tough divisions in League One and the Championship!”
