Kerry crash witnesses asked to come forward

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic accident that occurred on Wednesday afternoon near Camp, following which four people were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The incident took place on the N86 at Doonore North, adjacent to Gleann na nGealt, at approximately 3.05pm yesterday, 22 May. Two cars were involved and the four occupants suffered injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.

Two men, aged between 60 and 20 respectively, and a teenage girl were taken to Kerry University Hospital.

Another woman in her 60s was taken by air ambulance to Cork University Hospital and her condition was initially thought to be serious. The Kerry Man understands, but he was demoted overnight.

His condition is now “stable” and The Kerry Man understands that all four are expected to make a full recovery.

The road was closed for a time to allow Gardaí to carry out a technical examination at the scene.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward, including those who may have dash cam footage which will assist their investigation.
