M60 accident: Long delays after two lanes closed following collision

Drivers suffered rush hour delays following a crash on the M60. Police responded to a collision on the M60 counterclockwise, between junctions 18 at Simister Island and 17 at Prestwich and Whitefield.

Queues formed approaching the site on the M60 and M62 westbound. A spokesperson for North West Highway Police posted on X: “We have reports of a collision M60 anti-clockwise J18 to 17.

“National Highways en route. Traffic is slow passing through the area.”

Two lanes of traffic were closed in the area, but have since reopened. According to Inrix, the road was blocked after the collision.
