Ministry of Housing announces 4,000 internship positions

The Ministry of Lands, Works, Housing and Urban Development has announced paid internship opportunities under its affordable housing program.

The ministry said it is seeking up to 10,000 university graduates who will be recruited in phases.

Lot 1 seeks to recruit 4,000 interns who will work under the supervision of professional consultants already contracted by the State Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Available opportunities include areas such as architecture, quantity surveying, construction management, civil engineering, structural engineering, and mechanical and electrical engineering.

Others are surveying, geoinformatics, landscape architecture, interior design, social development, urban and regional planning, environmental sciences, health and safety, communication and branding, and ICT.

The Ministry said interested candidates must have at least a bachelor’s degree in the above-mentioned disciplines from a recognized university.

The internship will last one year.

Interns will be employed and compensated in accordance with the terms governing internships under the Public Service Commission.

“Upon successful completion of the internship program, interns will receive a testimonial and a certificate,” the ministry said.

Interested qualified graduates are urged to apply via the portal by 19 July 2024.
